The history of wireless charging

2023-11-10 11:55:17

We are China furniture wireless charger manufacturer. The history of wireless charging can be traced back to 1978, when the American George Bogle opened the precedent of charging electric cars wirelessly. 2006, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States successfully achieved a 2-metre transmission test and discovered four modes of realisation, such as electromagnetic induction, elector-magnetic resonance, electric field coupling and radio waves.

In the years since, wireless charging technology has been continuously developed and improved, and in 1985, a US company developed the first commercially available wireless charging product. In 2008, the Japanese company Sony launched its first mobile phone with a built-in wireless charger, using electromagnetic induction. This was a milestone in the development of wireless charging technology and is considered to be the first application of wireless charging technology in mobile phones.

In addition, global manufacturers are divided into two camps: WPC and AFA, with WPC focusing on magnetic induction technology and AFA on magnetic resonance technology. 2010 saw Apple's first built-in magnetic induction wireless charging function on its iPhone 4 mobile phone. In the same year, Samsung also launched the Galaxy Nexus mobile phone with magnetic induction wireless charging function.

Our company is China Short Circuit Protection furniture wireless charger exporter. As wireless charging technology continues to advance, innovations that support long-distance, multi-device charging, increased efficiency and reduced heat are also beginning to be applied. In 2017, wireless chargers became a standard feature on mobile phones in mainstream models of the iPhone 8, iPhone X and above. In addition, brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, and Vivo have also launched mobile phones with wireless charging capabilities.

At present, wireless charging technology has gradually become popular in the field of mobile phone charging, and has been recognized and welcomed by the majority of users. In the future, wireless charging technology will also be more widely used in office desks, bedrooms, KTVs, restaurants and other places, which is convenient and allows mobile phones to remain fully charged at all times.
